Editorial

Issue #4 of the eZine moving interventions focuses on transnational dialogues around questions of decolonization from BIPOC dancers and choreographers working in the Global South and BIPOC dancers and choreographers working in Germany/Europe/the Global North, as these two positions are often not differentiated in the international dance context.

This issue of the eZine moving interventions is intended to enable a discursive continuation, writing, and reflection of dialogues that began in the framework programme of TANZPLATTFORM DEUTSCHLAND 2024 (Dance Across Triangular Borders – Processes of Decolonization in Contemporary Dance, curated by Sandra Chatterjee) and extend these questions beyond this initial context.

We invited contributions that reflect decolonizing approaches to dance making in their specific local contexts, in order to make visible across contribution local distinctions between working in the Global South vs working in Europe/the Global North – as well as possibly structural similarities.

Feel free to write to us if you read the articles, allow them to affect and then feel the need to reach out!

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Sandra Chatterjee & Sarah Bergh
