Tümay Kılınçel [she/her] is a dance, performance and choreography artist. In her work, she deals with power relations, for example the dance canon and empowerment strategies. As a master’s student, she was a Rosa Luxemburg Studies scholarship holder, after her dance studies she was a danceWEB scholarship holder in 2011, received the CAA Young Talent Grant in the field of contemporary dance / choreography in 2021, received the Performing Arts Award of the state capital Düsseldorf in 2023. Her work “WE ❤️ 2 RAQS” toured to the performance festival Timișoara 2023 and was invited to the Tanzplattform Deutschland 2024 in Freiburg. Her new production “Melodrama Suits Her – A Revenge Evening” will premiere at HAU in spring 2024. She is currently a scholarship holder at the Kunststiftung NRW’s Galata Performing Arts studio in Istanbul and will be back in Istanbul in 2024 as a Tarabya scholarship holder.
